With an aesthetic that embraces classic Americana and modern luxury, fashion designer Billy Reid’s clothes appeal to men and women who understand quality and have a deep appreciation for craftsmanship and unique detailing.

Billy Reid found early success with the launch of his menswear collection William Reid. The company went on hiatus in 2001 – one of many designer casualties of the weak post-9/11 economy - but not before winning Billy the esteemed Perry Ellis Award for Best New Menswear Designer, given by the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA).

By spring 2004, Billy made a fresh start. Billy Reid, the company, would highlight the designer’s unique lifestyle and very personal point of view while growing a stable of stores equipped to house a full range of collections, foster community through special events, and serve as platforms for growth.

In February of 2010, GQ joined the CFDA in honoring Billy with the award for Best New Menswear Designer in America; the following November, he won the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund, making him the first designer ever to win both awards in the same year. The honors continued: in June of 2012, Billy was named the recipient of the CFDA’s prestigious Menswear Designer of the Year award.

Billy Reid engaged in collaborations with several likeminded brands, including K Swiss, Levi’s, Stetson, J. Crew and Coach. In 2008, to take advantage of Billy’s prolific European textile production, the company introduced a women’s collection, which is currently the fastest growing segment of the company. Billy Reid also offers a full range of accessories, shoes, and denim. Categories are constantly evolving, and there are plans to build on the brand’s distinct lifestyle via the introduction of eyewear, fragrance and home.  

Billy currently splits time between New York City, where he has showrooms and a popular retail shop on Bond Street, and his flagship store and design studio in Florence, AL, where the company is a vital part of the four-city area known as The Shoals. 

There are eight additional Billy Reid locations in the United States, including Atlanta, GA; Austin, TX; Charleston, SC; Dallas, TX; Houston, TX; Nashville, TN; New Orleans, LA; and Washington, DC. Two additional stores will open in 2014. Billy Reid’s e-commerce shop offers a full range of men’s and women’s apparel and accessories, which are also sold internationally in top-tier specialty and department stores.
