Billy Reid // K - Swiss
Tennis was a constant part of my life growing up, and I've held onto a particular pair of the surf and court sneakers for over 20 years. They became beyond worn and completely blown out. For some time, I've wanted to replace them, so we reached out to K-Swiss to explore a collaboration to revive their iconic shoe.
I've always believed this shoe had a cool vibe and the personal connectivity to K-Swiss created a natural fit.
"It all started with an old K-Swiss Surf and Court shoe that I had - It had holes in it and was torn to shreds, and K-Swiss wasn't making the shoe at the time."
We wanted to manufacture the shoe in America and utilize our own molds, components, and design for the product.
We worked with a family-owned shoe factory that, through determination and moderization, has been building premium shoes and boots since the 1870's in New York. The ability to work with them, developing the shapes and utilizing their hand-sewn touches, truly brought the effort to life.
