Shindig show with Brittany Howard

Music is more than a concept, it’s an ode to the cultural heartbeat at the very center of Billy. Our hometown is surrounded by the rich musical history of Muscle Shoals—deemed the hit recording capital of the world. It’s home to the renowned rhythm section, The Swampers, and the Fame and Muscle Shoals Sound studios that recorded legends like Aretha Franklin, The Rolling Stones, and Bob Seger, and more.

Muscle Shoals Sound Studio

The musical lore of our hometown pulls legendary performers we’ve been lucky to call friends and collaborate with over the years. With Abraham Alexander, Gibson guitars, John Paul White, Mumford & Sons and many more. That soulful, gritty sound is still kicking in the active studios and music festivals like Shoalsfest and our very own Shindig.

“There’s a certain sound that lives in Muscle Shoals. It’s a mystical energy.”

—Billy
