“A common theme throughout my work is home, often depicted through wildlife and the scenery of the South—I’ve always found quiet there in a noisy world.
I painted this pelican, Billy’s favorite bird, for the collaboration and drove from Oxford, MS to Florence, AL so that I could give it to him in person. It aligns perfectly with our intersecting inspirations and represents so many of the qualities we strive for in our work.”
