THOMAS TRUST:

Where Style Lives

For Thomas Trust, style starts at home.

As an interior stylist and creative based in Chicago, Thomas has built a name for himself by creating spaces and looks that feel lived-in, layered, and effortlessly refined. In our Summer Spotlight series, we explored how his style unfolds across the rhythm of the season, from coffee at home to city walks, weekend rituals, and wardrobe staples.

What stands out most is how seamlessly Thomas blends the worlds of interiors and fashion. “My interior design is moody, collected, vintage, but not stuffy,” he says. “I want my wardrobe to feel the same way.”

Throughout the summer, Thomas has styled Billy Reid classics with a sense of intention and ease. Light layers, rich textures, and elevated details are central to both how he dresses and how he lives. “If I’m not adding interest through color, I’m adding it with a neutral piece that has texture,” he says. “That applies to a shirt or a throw pillow.”

At home, you’ll find hand-thrown ceramics and custom-built shelving alongside deep green walls and warm brown tones. These same shades show up in his closet: olive, navy, black, ivory, and of course, his forever favorite (like Billy) - brown. “It’s the color I’m always drawn to,” he says. “In design, in clothes, in everything.”

His rituals reflect the same considered approach. Morning coffee is always black or with a splash of oat milk. Evening drinks are served at a cocktail bar he built into a corner of his living room, a space he describes as feeling like his favorite corner table in a restaurant. And it’s no surprise Thomas gravitates toward our Billy Reid x Williams Sonoma barware- pieces that echo the same warm, understated sophistication as his home.

Across wardrobe and interiors, what ties it all together is a commitment to quality and longevity. “We get so caught up in what’s next and what’s trending,” he says. “But I like having pieces that feel unique, that I’ll still love years from now. When you build from high-quality basics, the rest falls into place.”

In many ways, Thomas’s world mirrors our own approach to design at Billy Reid: understated but expressive, grounded in craft, and always ready for the long haul. His perspective is a reminder that style isn’t just what you wear. It’s how you live too.
