I really liked the double-breasted design of this coat and got a great price as part of the end-of-the season sale at Billy Reid. The waxed canvas is durable and the zip out vest is stylish and warm. The problem with this coat, however, is its lack of pockets. What you see in the picture is what you get. Two outside large pockets with flaps and two small slot pockets chest high. There are no pockets inside this coat. I have never owned an upscale coat without interior pockets of some kind. I wear glasses. The flap pockets are meant for gloves and the higher pockets are too small. Good style marks are offset by bad functionality.

All of Reid's clothes are so well made. This one is exceptional. A very dry finish wax, great texture to cloth. An interesting "button in" liner/vest instead of the usual balky zipper arrangement. Thoughtful attractive details throughout. Very nicely styled (i'm 6' and 174 lbs.), perfect fit. Billy Reid remains my company of choice (along with Private White). WH

This jacket is warm and not stiff like most waxed canvas coats. The issue that I have is the supposed hand pockets. I'm not sure is suppose to fit in them but my hand do not unless I ball them up into a fist. The only thing I would feel comfortable with fitting in them is my airpods. I also have the regular Bond coat and those pockets are more functional.
