This is a very nicely made sport coat. It's knit - which means that the fabric is more like an upscale sweater. But the styling is really good and it's certainly NOT a sweater! This is the beauty of this piece. At one end of the spectrum, you have a full suit coat, at the other, you have something like a chino jacket. This piece is in the middle, and can be dressed up or down. It's not formal and would not be good for the boardroom, but anything less dressy than that and this is a great piece.
The fit was perfect for me: I am 5'9" with a 36" chest and weigh 145 pounds. I have to get slim fit clothing or I look like I'm wearing a tent. This one in size small fit me beautifully. I'm very happy with it!
